Are these food trucks prepared for culinary battle? In this week’s The Great Food Truck Race, these burgers need to be more than just a meat and bun.

In The Great Food Truck Race, these food trucks need to prove that they deserve the title and the big cash prize for winning. Each week’s challenge is more than just entertaining food TV. If these food trucks can master these challenges, eventual food truck success could be had.

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, Burger Brawl, features:

"Tyler Florence give the five remaining food truck teams a terrifying gator challenge in Fort Myers, Florida. They have to step up their game with a burger that takes creative risks and face a secret chef judge. One team breaks away from the pack to sell in an unexpected location, but the move could end up sending them home."

Looking at this synopsis, the gator challenge shouldn’t be overly scary. Unless the food trucks have to wrestle a gator, the challenge should be doable.

If the food trucks have to cook with gator, the key is to make the gator tender. Sometimes this protein can be chewy. While many people fry it, there are other options that can be used.

The burger challenge should be the best challenge of the season. In a way, this particular burger brawl should be a way for some food trucks to set themselves apart from the pack. A creative chef always has a place in the culinary world.

Even though all the food trucks want to stay in their particular culinary point of view, they do need to make a burger this challenge. The team that goes completely off script won’t be rewarded.

Sure, an unusual protein, bold condiments or even a different bun is warranted, not doing a burger would be a bad choice. Still, it seems unlikely that any truck would go completely off script in this challenge.

Lastly, regarding the selling issue, that scenario is a tough one. While competing in the same area can both perks and disadvantages, it will be interesting to see why the food truck broke out on its own. If they had a built in audience elsewhere, it could be a smart decision.
