Doritos Spark The Beat encouraged fans to submit their best beats and lyrics for a huge opportunity. The connection between the snack and music continues to grow.

Did you know about Doritos Spark The Beat? Earlier this year, the uber popular Frito-Lay snack encouraged musicians and lyricists the chance to work with Lil Baby. Today, the two winners were announced.

After careful consideration, Doritos Spark the Beat winners are Ali Tomineek and Rashad Jackson, a lyricist and a beatmaker. The two winners have an opportunity to collaborate with Lil Baby in the studio on a new track.

Lil Baby said, “Since we announced in July, we received almost 10,000 submissions from fire artists for the Doritos Spark The Beat contest – all of them wanting to be recognized as the next rising stars in hip-hop. And after weeks of listening, we couldn’t be more excited to announce the winners tomorrow one lyricist and one beatmaker: Ali Tomineek and Rashad Jackson.”

This event is the second year that Doritos collaborated with rising Hip Hop artists. Last year, “Blaze the Beat” worked with Busta Rhymes. The winner had the opportunity to perform at the Life is Beautiful Festival with Wiz Khalifa.

Doritos has found a way to connect the iconic snack with both music and pop culture. Looking at its recent campaigns with Chance the Rapper, it shows that there is an inherent connection between snacks and music.

Snacks, themselves, can be musical. From the crunch to even just opening the bag, the cacophony of sound can create a beat. More importantly, who hasn’t enjoyed some snacks while listening to your favorite music.

Bringing big name artists into the snack world draws fans to both the snacks and the musicians. From the snack fan who might explore a different musical genre to the music fan who might try a new snack, it can bring people to new experiences.

Additionally, these campaigns show that the snacks, like music, are cross generational. From the Backstreet Boys to Lionel Richie, there is connection that doesn’t come with an age limit. It is about a beat, a word or just a feeling.

The same can be said about a snack. While the flavor is key, there is something that brings fans back time and again. That snack/fan connection is felt from the youngest fan to the older generation.

The Spark the Beat contest can be more than just the opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience. It is a way for fans to see the connection between the snacks they love and the music they connect to.

Fans might have to wait a little to hear the Lil Baby and Doritos Spark the Beat winners, but the collaboration will surely be on fire.
