Halloween Baking Championship Season 5 finale preview: Bleeding zombies?

What is creeping in the Halloween Baking Championship Season 5 finale? From ghosts to zombies, this Food Network finale is getting spooky.

Three bakers remain in the Halloween Baking Championship Season 5 finale and this episode looks be to be quite spooky. Is there anything sweet in these final spooky challenges?

According to the Food Network, the Halloween Baking Championship Season 5 finale, “A Haunting We Will Go” states:

"Host John Henson instructs the three remaining bakers to construct a “Ghostembouche,” or ghostly version of a croquembouche tower. Then they face the final challenge of creating a bleeding zombie cake for judges Carla Hall, Katie Lee and Zac Young. When the bloodbath is over, the survivor is named Halloween Baking Champion!"

For the pre-heat, a croquembouche tower is going to be difficult. From a perfect puff to the structure of the tower, these bakers better not get frightened. A leaning tower is not a good choice for any challenge, let alone this ghostly one.

Looking at the main heat, this challenge will definitely be quite challenging. A bleeding zombie cake sounds like something that Duff Goldman would make. It will be more than just a chocolate lava cake with some red food coloring.

With just three bakers in the competition, there seems to be one person with an advantage. Throughout the season, Karl has really excelled. Every week, he has impressed the judges with both flavor and presentation. It could be his competition to lose.

Pete really did well in last week’s episode. When he has decided to push outside of his comfort zone, the judges rewarded that effort. It will be interestinsg to see if he continues this trend.

Still, these bakers are only as good as their last dessert. Even the smallest mistake can send someone home.
