As anticipation grows ahead of Super Bowl LIV, the Taste of the NFL celebration, the annual Party with a Purpose, will be heating up Miami before the big game.

Taste of the NFL is more than just a celebration on the eve of the Super Bowl. The Party with a Purpose raises funds and awareness for hunger relief through the Kick Hunger Challenge. When all NFL players, celebrity chefs and football legends come together, the event becomes the event of Super Bowl weekend.

Over the years, this event has raised and donated over “$26 million to food banks and hunger-related nonprofit organizations.” The donations happened over all 32 NFL cities. Over the 29 years of these events, the program has resulted in “over 220 million meals distributed nationwide.”

For this year’s Party with a Purpose, the guest hosts feature Coach Don Shula, Chef Andrew Zimmern, Chef Adam Richman and NFL Player Ben Leber. With these powerhouse hosts, this year’s event in Miami will be the biggest yet.

While the hosts might be the face of this epic event, foodies are excited to taste, sip and savor the amazing dishes from some of South Florida’s best chefs as well as other celebrated chefs from around the nation.

As seen at last year’s event, the Party with a Purpose celebrates thoughtful recipes, many of which have special meaning to the chefs that have created them. Whether it was Alex Guarnaschelli’s Super Bowl dip recipe or Sheldon Simeon’s Kalua Pork recipe, these dishes blended they stories with game day favorites.

For example, Adam Richman’s recipe from last year’s event pulled inspiration from Wisconsin and the Green Bay Packers. Given Chef Richman’s love of the Miami Dolphins, it will be curious to see how he infuses Miami or the Dolphins into his dish for this year.

Since Miami is such a vibrant food city, the Taste of the NFL is the perfect opportunity to highlight local chefs. For example, Chef Allen Susser, James Beard Award Winner, will be creating a dish. Known for his “Floribbean cuisine,” it will be interesting to see if he highlights some non-native invasive species, like Lionfish, as seen in his new cookbook.

Also, Executive Chef Paula DaSilva of The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, will be showcasing her interpretation of rustic, seasonal cuisine. The Hell’s Kitchen alum might be a familiar face to guests, but the Brazilian native will look to make an impression with her food.

The Taste of the NFL event is a must for foodies and football fans. From the NFL players in attendance to the amazing dishes from celebrity chefs, this event might be the second hottest ticket in town (behind the Super Bowl game itself.).

The Party with a Purpose, Taste of the NFL, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Diplomat Beach Resort. Tickets are $700 a person; VIP tickets and full table tickets are also available.
