Krispy Kreme Butterfinger doughnuts are now here for a limited time.

Krispy Kreme Butterfinger doughnuts are now here for a limited time in the latest cross-promotion between iconic food brands.

At participating stores across the US, the Krispy Kreme Butterfinger doughnuts are available until Friday, March 13.

This news was previously reported by Delish.

They will come in two varieties, like the Reese’s collaboration from last summer.

The Butterfinger Original Filled Doughnut, which is an original glazed doughnut filled with peanut butter cream, dipped in a Butterfinger icing and topped with Butterfinger pieces, then finished off with a final dazzle of chocolate drizzle.

The other option is the Butterfinger Fudge Cake Doughnut, which is a chocolate cake doughnut dipped in chocolate icing, then topped with a peanut buttery Butterfinger cream and candy pieces.

“We’ve done it. We’ve achieved our goal of putting krispety, crunchety, glazey, chocolatey and peanut buttery all in a doughnut,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer, said in a press release.

“Fans of both brands are going to love the chocolatey crunchiness of Butterfinger matched with the airy sweetness of Krispy Kreme.”

Based on the Reese’s doughnuts from last summer, the Fudge Cake Doughnut sounds like it will become the fan favorite out of these two, as the peanut butter cream and the candy pieces add variety to the familiar cake doughnut.

The lightness and airiness of a Krispy Kreme original glazed donut might make the cream feel too heavy and awkward, though the crunchiness of the candy pieces on top should balance things out.

Butterfinger’s recipe was changed in January 2019 after the brand was acquired by Nutella parent company Ferrero, according to Business Insider, emphasizing the cocoa and milk levels in the coating and changing the type of peanut used. At the same time, several artificial ingredients were removed. This change has drawn the ire of some fans.
