National Doughnut Day 2020: 5 tasty ways to celebrate
From free doughnuts to tasty treats, National Doughnut Day 2020 is reason to celebrate.
National Doughnut Day 2020 is June 5. While the annual food holiday often comes with a doughnut or two, this year’s celebration is even sweeter. From extra free doughnuts to new doughnut inspired treats, there are many ways to mark the occasion.
Here are five tasty ways that FoodSided will be celebrating National Doughnut Day 2020.
Krispy Kreme free doughnuts for a week
Starting on June 1 through June 5, Krispy Kreme will be giving away free doughnuts, every day. Any guests can get their choice of a free doughnut. No additional purchase is necessary.
While Krispy Kreme has often giving away free doughnuts on National Doughnut Day, the doughnut brand has extended the offer to an entire week. Although a little sweet treat cannot change the world, it can be a moment of happiness.

Dunkin’
On June 5, Dunkin’ will offer a free doughnut with a beverage purchase. In additional, Grubhub will be offering a free half-dozen of doughnuts with orders of $10 or more. This offer is available June 6 and June 7.
For a little levity, Dunkin’ is encouraging people to vote for their favorite member of the Donut Party. With a list of “canDOUGHdates” people can support their favorite doughnut on social media for a chance to win prizes.
Entenmann’s
Entenmann’s has long supported the Salvation Army and its long history with National Doughnut Day. This year, Entenmann’s is hosting the Standing Doughnation Sweepstakes. Now through June 18, people can nominate a healthcare hero. These healthcare workers will be eligible for a $500 cash prize, a $500 donation to their hospital/care facility and some free doughnuts.
Klondike Donuts
What you would do for some Klondike Donuts? These frozen treats are inspired by three classic donuts. From Triple Chocolate to Strawberry Frosted to Boston Crème, it is the perfect blend of donut flavors and ice cream. Who says that you can’t have ice cream for breakfast on National Doughnut Day?
Bake your own doughnuts
While there are many types of doughnuts, baked doughnuts are probably the easiest to make. In a way, a baked doughnut is like baking a cupcake. The biggest difference is that a doughnut mold is helpful.
A quick search of almost any recipe website offers some baked doughnut recipes. FoodSided recommends this simple, easy recipe from King Arthur Flour. In less than 30 minutes, you can have hot, fresh doughnuts on the table.
Whether you celebrate National Doughnut Day 2020 all week long or just on June 5, don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a doughnut this week. Only one question remains, what beverage are your drinking while enjoying that doughnut?
