Steak sauce makes grilled steak sizzle

Ready to elevate your grilling game? Steak sauce and grilled steak are the perfect pair.
Would you eat your steak naked? Of course not! Steak is meant to be sauced, so why not dress up your steak with a fun new steak sauce? Allow your tastebuds to go wild with steak sauces from around the world.
Let’s start at home. Have you ever considered making your own steak sauce? Bon Appétit Magazine encourages us to do just that in their June/July 2020 Grilling Issue. They invited Chef Chris Shepherd to share his signature steak sauce with readers. It is a sweet, salty, tart sauce “goosed with secret sources of umami that may be the ideal foil for a sizzling slab of red meat.”
The folks in Argentina know how to flavor grilled steak. Chimichurri Sauce is an Argentinian specialty made out of finely chopped parsley, garlic, oregano, olive oil and vinegar. This sauce brightens up the smokiness of the grilled meat.
The French know how to dress a steak. Béarnaise sauce is rich and velvety, made with egg yolks, butter, shallots, wine, vinegar and seasonings. It may look delicate, but it can stand up to the rich flavor of grilled beef. This sauce is also delicious on grilled lobster, making it perfect for surf and turf. The French are also known for their classic hearty Sauce Bourguignonne ( red wine and shallots) and Chasseur Sauce (“Hunter Sauce made with mushrooms, shallots and white wine). Steak Au Poivre Vert (green pepper sauce) is another French favorite. Make it from scratch or with Knorr Classic Green Pepper Sauce.
Not to be outdone, the Spanish love their grilled steak served with Romesco Sauce. This lively tomato-based sauce combines roasted red peppers and crunchy almonds. This sauce is especially delicious with marinated grilled flank steak.
When you don’t have time to make your own steak sauce, there are packaged sauces that will add a bit zingy flavor to your grilled meat. Hellmann’s Drizzle Sauces are a favorite with those of us who love to grill. Roasted Garlic, Cilantro Lime, Creamy Bourbon BBQ, Creamy Chili Honey and Roasted Red Pepper flavors add sizzle to your drizzle! Or simply sauce your steak with an Artisan Pepper Sauce that will add peppy pepper flavor to that perfectly grilled meat.
What will you be saucing your grilled steak with this summer?
