Halo Top improves its non-dairy recipe and the new flavors are heavenly
If you need an excuse to enjoy a frozen treat, the revamped Halo Top non-dairy recipe is it.
When it comes to plant-based ice cream, Halo Top is a favorite choice. Many people appreciate the variety of flavors and the creativity that the brand puts into its offerings. Now, the popular plant-based ice cream has revamped its recipe on some of its non-dairy offerings. Ready to enjoy a spoonful?
One of the best parts about ice cream is the rich, creamy texture. This new Halo Top plant-based ice cream recipe still has the traditional coconut milk base, but it has changed to a fava bean protein. This ingredient change creates a smoother, creamier texture.
While there is an ingredient change, the calorie count is still lower than traditional ice cream. At just 280-360 calories per pint, it is a taste of indulgence without a big scoop of guilt.
The new and improved flavors include: Birthday Cake, Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. These flavors will appear on store shelves starting in September. Additional re-vamped flavors, Candy Bar, Chocolate, Chocolate Almond Crunch and Sea Salt Caramel, will be available starting in October.
According to Shilpa Gadhok, senior brand manager, Halo Top, “With our Dairy-Free line, we replaced brown rice protein with fava bean protein for a creamier texture that’s packed with flavor. Plant-based demand is higher than ever and we want to provide our fans with an offering they feel great about eating – so they don’t have to choose between pursuing a plant-based lifestyle and enjoying dessert.”
Thinking about this frozen treat option, the improvement to texture is an important choice for Halo Top. One of the reasons why people enjoy ice cream is because of the creamy texture. It is luscious and satisfying.
Even though consumers want better for you food choices, they want to tasty treats. If that less indulgent option doesn’t satisfy each bite after bite, then the consumers will not come back to purchase again. That product needs to mimic the tastes and textures of the more indulgent treat.
While this Halo Top recipe revamp is just for a few of their offerings, it will be interesting to see if other changes are coming. Companies that continue to strive for better will always have customer loyalty.
