McDonald’s Happy Meal Readers offer a Jurassic adventure
Turn mealtime into reading time with McDonald’s Happy Meal Readers.
For many families, the McDonald’s Happy Meal Readers have become a way to spark a love of reading. Since 2013, McDonald’s has distributed 74 million books to children across the country. In some ways, that Happy Meal has shared new adventures with every turn of the page.
Starting on September 1, McDonald’s Happy Meal Readers will feature books based on Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, which will air on Netflix starting September 18. While these stories share terrific tidbits and fun facts, these stories will spark a sense of imagination with each time the story is told.
The non-fiction Happy Meal Readers feature four dinosaur themes, Horned Dinosaurs, Big Dinosaurs, Armored Dinosaurs and Ferocious Dinosaurs. While each story contains interesting facts to captivate the reader, the stories resonate with the younger readers. The hope is that the adventures will bring kids back time and again to discover something new.
“Families are important to us, and we know they’re facing many challenges this year with ‘back to school’ feeling very different. That’s why we’re especially excited to give them a fun and educational way to spend time together with this year’s Happy Meal Readers program,” said JJ Healan, Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Brand Content and Engagement. “We’re proud and excited to work with Universal to help families experience the joy of reading together and create new memories with the Jurassic World franchise.”
While a Happy Meal is both a treat at the table and a treat to take home, these readers offer a new sense of adventure for kids and families. When a child learns to discover the world within a book, their sense of imagination can blossom. Although kids look for fun, these books be that entertainment.
The new Happy Meal Readers will be available from September 1 through September 15. The books will be available in both English and Spanish.
Additionally, McDonald’s will donate 100,000 books to Reading Is Fundamental, which will support the organization’s mission to expose children to the power of literacy.
Why not enjoy a family meal around the table and read a book after dinner. That family time together could not only start a family tradition but could spark a love of reading that will last a lifetime.
