Kingsford Charcoal has partnered with Bubba Wallace.

Kingsford Charcoal has partnered with NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace, just in time for Labor Day.

This news was announced in a video posted on Wallace’s Twitter account on Thursday morning, September 3, which also features his new puppy Asher.

The specific product mentioned was Kingsford Hardwood Pellets, which add a smoked flavor to your grilling experience and comes in several varieties: Cherrywood, Classic, Hickory, Maple and Signature.

Bubba Wallace is in his third season in Cup, and currently drives the No. 43 Chevy Camaro for Richard Petty Motorsports. He is also the first full-time black driver in the Cup Series in half a century.

It is unclear whether this deal with Kingsford will be a team primary sponsorship or just a personal services partnership.

He recently signed a multiyear primary sponsorship deal with DoorDash, and also has some backing from Coca-Cola and McDonald’s.

Kingsford has been a longtime sponsor in the NASCAR Cup Series with the JTG-Daugherty Racing cars, currently aboard the No. 37 of Ryan Preece and the No. 47 of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

While Wallace failed to qualify for the 16-driver playoffs that begin this weekend at Darlington Raceway, he will still have a chance to compete for race wins since all drivers keep racing, unlike typical stick and ball sports.

Through 26 races, he has a season-best finish of fifth at Daytona International Speedway, with additional top 10s at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (sixth), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (ninth) and Michigan International Speedway (ninth).

He has an average finish of 19.5, which is very respectable for an underfunded single-car team, and a colossal year-over-year improvement over the 2019 average finish of 23.9.

As a delicious method of preparing food, grilling can deliver excellent results, but can be dangerous at times (though not anywhere near as dangerous as stock car racing). Still, it’s important to keep grilling safety tips in mind while celebrating Labor Day.
