Step away from the pumpkin patch and fall in love with delicious apple cocktails.

After a day spent apple picking, some delicious apple cocktails are the perfect way to toast a crisp fall day. Cozy up in your best sweater, sit by the fire and sip your cares a way. With these apple cocktails, you might want to enjoy one every day.

Apples and fall are a delightful pairing. While the fall colors offer a vibrant display, a juicy, crisp apple is the perfect fall flavor. While those apple cider donuts might be the sweet treat to enjoy, delicious apple cocktails are the way to relax at the end of the day.

For this season, apple seems to be everywhere. From the new Captain Morgan Sliced Apple to the always popular Crown Royal Apple, liquors infused with apple flavor can be a great choice. When served simply, the apple flavor is subtle yet enjoyable. Even just these liquors paired with a ginger beer can be quite delightful.

Sometimes transforming a favorite cocktail with seasonal flavors can be a great way to showcase the versatility of some cocktails. For example, a margarita can have a seasonal twist.

Teremana Tequila, the popular brand by Dwayne Johnson, has given the People’s Margarita an apple twist. In this version, the fresh apple juice is balanced with the lime juice. The touch of sweet and tart is tasty.

Also, by using an aged tequila, the flavor is more robust. It is perfect on a chilly night, wrapped under a blanket.

Here’s how to make the Fresh Orchard Apple Manarita.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Teremana Reposado
  • .75 oz. Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Fresh Apple Juice
  • .5 oz. Agave Nectar

Method:

  • Combine all ingredients and mix. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Building on the idea of bringing a seasonal twist to a summer drink, a sangria can have an apple cider pairing. Plus, with a sangria, you feel good about having a few extra apples in your cocktail. After all, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, right?

Recently, Maureen Petrosky partnered with Kettle Brand Apple Cider Vinegar Chips to make the perfect fall apple cocktail to pair with the seasonal chips. Whether served as a cocktail or a mocktail, this sangria recipe shows that the beverage adapts to any time of year.

If you have lots of extra apples from apple picking, why not mix up a pitcher of sangria. Sometimes it is easier to eat those apples when they have a little “extra” flavoring.

Here’s how to make Maureen Petrosky’s Sparkling Apple Sangria.

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 750ml bottle cava (or other dry sparkling wine), chilled
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

Method:

  • Add the apples to a large pitcher reserving about 1/2 cup for garnishing. Add the cognac, apple cider, and chilled cava. Stir.
  • Fill the pitcher with ice. Pour the sangria into glasses filled with ice and top with sliced apple and pomegranate seeds.

While this recipe is for a pitcher, it can be modified for an individual serving. Also, you can swap a club soda or sparkling water for the cava if you want to reduce the alcohol content. A non-alcoholic version would swap sparkling water or club soda for all alcohol.
