Pinkglow Pineapple adds a rosy hue to a favorite tropical fruit.

While it can be nice to see the world through rose colored glasses, Pinkglow Pineapple from Del Monte could become your new fruit obsession. Although the rosy color is a feast for the eyes, the flavor will entice people to take another bite.

Colorful fruits and vegetables are a mainstay of healthy eating. Although most people pick a particular food for its flavor, sometimes the color impacts a choice. Granted, a Granny Smith apple tastes very different from a Red Delicious. Still, sometimes people would prefer a green apple to a red one for presentation purposes.

Pink colored foods have been a growing food trend. Beyond the rose all day trend, the produce market has found ways to harness vibrant colors. From pink lemons to colorful variations of the dragon fruit, the fruit aisle seems to have that rosy glow.

With the Pinkglow Pineapple, Del Monte opens numerous possibilities. Given that this pineapple took 16 years to perfect, there was much care taken into its cultivation. This pineapple isn’t just about the pink color.

While the pineapples do have a sweet taste, the Pinkglow Pineapple has a candy aroma. Although it isn’t sugary sweet, the aroma is different from a traditional pineapple.

Grown on a select farm in Costa Rica, Del Monte brings an element of sustainable practices to this pineapple. For over 24 months, the pineapples grow and are  harvested. The pineapple crowns are  removed and care is taken to reduce waste through the growing process. That crown is replanted to foster the next crop. From start to finish, this endeavor is a labor of love.

Pablo Rivero, Vice President Marketing North America, Fresh Del Monte said, “The Pinkglow Pineapple is a product we are incredibly proud of – not only for its beautiful color and delicious taste, but also because of the care that went into growing and releasing it, as well as the sustainable method we’ve enacted to produce these new pink pineapples.”

Thinking about this new pink pineapple, the uses are many. While it will add a burst of color to a fruit salad, it will change many cocktails and mocktails. A pina colada transforms to a pink colada. The same can be said about other cocktails, smoothies and more.

While many people will be drawn to the color, the flavor offers even more possibilities. Whether it is a parent who can get the kids to eat more fruit to a creative recipe that enhances the sweeter flavors, this Del Monte pineapple could be the must have treat.

Currently, the Pinkglow Pineapple is only available for purchase online. For how to order and to learn more, please visit the website.
