Miller Lite tells fans to get typing for free beer during the big game
Miller Lite arrived on store shelves in 1975. From Miller Time to a great tasting light beer, the brand has believed in the concept great taste and less filling. As other brands look to capture the lifestyle beer market, Miller Lite believes burning one calorie can be as simple as typing a URL.
During the big game, the beer brand is encouraging fans to type a really long URL, 836 character URL to be exact, during the Michelob Ultra commercial. While typing doesn’t necessarily make you happy, that specific URL will burn exactly one calorie, the caloric difference between the two beers.
On February 7, if you type that long URL at the right time, correctly, you could get a 6-pack of Miller Lite. Sometimes the best beer promotions are just that simple.
Can you type your way to free beer from Miller Lite?
Sofia Colucci, Vice President of Marketing, Miller Family of Brands, appreciates that Miller Lite has been the “original great tasting and less filling beer.” Additionally, Colucci said, “Through the years there have been many followers. And while yes, some others may have one less calorie, we know that everyone finds joy in something that tastes great.”
While some people might think that they can just copy and paste this URL, but the brand has made it where you do have to type all of those 836 characters. Available only via a media image, everyone will have to get typing. Yes, start practicing “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.”
More information on the URL and the promotion will be shared via the brand’s social media accounts leading up to the big game. The first 5,000 entries will receive $8 via Venmo on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
