While big kids might be waiting for a seat on the Velocicoaster, DreamWorks Destination is the spot where all ages will interact with some of their favorite DreamWorks characters at Universal Orlando. Are you ready to see your favorite characters jump off the screen and get moving?

Over the past year, the KidZone area at Universal Studios Florida has been a little quiet. While families would sneak away to that quiet area of the theme park for the tamer roller coaster, interactive play area and a little shade, the KidZone spot seemed to be a little underutilized.

Even though many guests believe that a visit to Universal Orlando must always include a trip on ET’s iconic bike, the reality is that the kid area needed a little more excitement beyond that ride entrance.

During Halloween Horror Nights and Mardi Gras parades, the area sees more action. Many people spent time gathering in groups for their chance to climb aboard those Mardi Gras floats. Usually, a few of the entrances to favorite haunted houses are located in the KidZone area.

Still, Universal Orlando wants to find more ways to engage with its guests. By revitalizing the KidZone area, the theme park can give guests more experiences that will make them say “Whoa.”

What can guests expect from DreamWorks Destination?

According to a recent Universal Orlando announcement, DreamWorks Destination will be a character experience. Apparently located in the former Barney location, the attraction will offer guests an opportunity to interact with favorite characters from DreamWorks Animation film franchises. Films include Trolls, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and more.

While details are limited, this experience is part photo opportunity and part dance party. The description seems to convey a vibrant stage where the energetic atmosphere will have guests feeling as if they have stepped into those popular movie opening segments. Whether everyone dances, sings or a combination of both, a good time is meant to be had.

DreamWorks Destination is set to open this Spring at Universal Studios Florida. More information will be available at a later date.
