Even though this episode puts Maine lobster on the table, the reality is that Maine seafood is more than just succulent lobster. From some of the best oysters to clams to even seaweed, the bounty from the ocean is great. Those chilly waters make for the sweetest seafood.

In some ways, this episode continues a food story that ties all the series episodes together. Regardless of the location, the chefs find the process of gathering the food as important to the food itself. Whether it is called foraging or something else, the connection between the land and the food is vital to understanding the beauty and complexity of the dish. Without the backstory, the dish is missing the flavor.

Compared to other episodes, Gordon Ramsay Uncharted Maine will not put the celebrated chef in too many overly precarious situations. While pulling lobster traps and the frigid waters might not be the easiest undertakings, it is a far cry from gathering those gooseneck barnacles.
