While McDonald’s always satisfies with its food menu, July 3 the hottest buy will not be those spicy nuggets. Continuing its connection to the iconic Space Jam franchise, a new apparel launch will have everyone sprinting to their laptops to place an order. Which food fashion moment will be your slam dunk choice?

When Space Jam first burst onto the scene, McDonald’s brought those now infamous characters off the screen and into play time via its Happy Meal toys. While that connection between entertainment and engagement is always part of the McDonald’s brand, the newest offering seems to embrace a new trend, food fashion.

The newest, limited edition offering is the McDonald’s x Diamond Supply Co. x Space Jam: A New Legacy Collection. Inspired by the upcoming film, the fashion line jerseys, shorts, sweatshirts and more will be available starting on July 3 at 9 a.m. PST via DiamondSupplyCo.com and at Diamond Supply’s flagship store in Los Angeles. The collection will be available while supplies last.

This newest announcement comes following hugely successful food fashion collaborations with BTS and J Balvin. While many people crave that Big Mac, world famous fries and even that McFlurry, the truth is that people want to visually show their love of the Golden Arches and their favorite pop culture connections.

Jennifer Healan, McDonald’s VP of U.S. Marketing, Brand Content and Engagement, said “From bringing fans closer to the celebrities they love with our Famous Orders campaigns, to dropping apparel so they can suit up with the iconic Tune Squad, we’re always looking for new ways to excite and connect with our customers.”

Looking at the new Space Jam Legacy offering, it has a wider appeal than previous food fashion launches. While the music icons have their legions of fans, Space Jam crosses a wider demographic. From the people who grew up watching Michael Jordan and the Tune Squad to younger fans who are just learning about this genre, everyone will want to get their hands on the special apparel.
