Top Chef Season 18 finale: Only one will be crowned Top Chef
With the twist on the penultimate episode, the Top Chef Season 18 finale will finally crown one chef the winner. Will the chefs get all their food on the plate or will more mistakes plague the Top Chef finale?
According to Bravo, Top Chef Season 18 finale, “The Next Top Chef Is” features the following:
"After 13 grueling weeks of competition, the chefs must create the best four-course meal of their lives for their final challenge at Willamette Valley Vineyards. They’ll serve it to an esteemed table including Padma, Tom and Gail, this season’s All-Star dining panel, and a few additional noteworthy guests including Tiffany Derry, Edouardo Jordan, Peter Cho and Naomi Pomeroy. Former winners Melissa King and Richard Blais join the judges one last time to deliberate and crown the next Top Chef."
While Top Chef made it through many struggles of filming during a pandemic, that circumstance seemed to impact the culinary competition in a way that no one could have imagined. As Dale Talde even commented, there is that sense of everyone is just getting along. Although that these circumstances may never happen again, the reality is that everyone seems to want a positive outcome in the end.
Some people have noticed that even some mistakes that would have sent chefs home in previous seasons are not weighed as heavily in this season. The inability to complete all the plates has plagued Dawn all season. If that situation happens in the finale, many people feel that she should not win.
Gabe has been the king of sauces all season. While that element has earned him high praise, his dishes have not been perfect, either. Can a saucier win it all?
Lastly, Shota has been the one chef that has stayed true to his vision. Although his Japanese style might not be bold and flashy, it is nuanced and lovely. Could staying true to his culinary point of view earn him the title?
By the end of Top Chef Season 18 episode 14, “The Next Top Chef Is” only one chef will be left standing. Who do you think it will be?
