On Super Bowl Sunday, viewers are glued to screens to see which team raises the Lombardi Trophy, which player is going to Disney World and what epic memorable moment is created during the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. For Super Bowl LV, The Weeknd did more than just perform in between the two halves of the NFL football game. In the documentary, THE SHOW, fans get a glimpse in the creative world of bringing that vision to the world’s biggest stage.

While football fans will cheer for epic plays and their favorite teams, the Super Bowl is more than just a football game. In many ways, the pop culture connection beyond the grid iron is what makes the event must watch television. From the humorous commercials to the poignant sentiments, those moments in time are often more talked about than the last scoring drive.

The Pepsi Halftime Show has become that time when everyone grabs a drink, a plate of food, and sits down to watch the performance. Some people might remember Left Shark more than Lady Gaga’s epic diving catch to ending her performance, but the reality is that those musical events are integral to the Super Bowl experience.

The new documentary feature, THE SHOW, is the “first-ever look into the making of the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show.” The 90-minute feature takes a deep dive into the impressive musical performance that took place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

According to The Weeknd, “This documentary is a unique glimpse into the passion, work and cinematic mindset that went into the creation of the show. It extends the narrative for fans and viewers who like to get lost in how the historic show we all grow up watching is built.”

The Super Bowl LV Halftime Show was beyond an ambitious undertaking. Beyond the health and safety measures surrounding the event, the visual moments, staging and music showcased a performance unlike previous Super Bowl events. It didn’t just set a bar for future performances; it might have made the bar unreachable.
