Pepsi Music Lab adds a new score to its music collaboration
While the brand might have dropped the mic on a new art form, the Pepsi Music Lab looks to create memorable melodies now and for future generations. Since the popular beverage brand has long celebrated its connection to both music and pop culture, this program looks to impact not only today’s music scene but also future creators.
Beyond the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show, Pepsi has long supported musicians and appreciates the role that music has in pop culture. From influencing style to vocalizing the sentiment of the community, a popular beat is more an ear worm that lingers in the mind.
With the Pepsi Music Lab, the brand is partnering with Pi’erre Bourne, GRAMMY award-winning producer, to give emerging artists an opportunity to showcase their voice. During a three-day event, selected artists will have an opportunity to develop their own track, which will be “produced and released by Pi’erre and Pepsi.” For anyone who thirsts for this unique opportunity, artists can apply online and the three finalists will be given their shot.
This program is not just a contest looking to put a talent on stages. As Todd Kaplan, VP of Marketing – Pepsi. “Pepsi Music Lab is a transformational opportunity for artists around the country, especially since they’ll be given the opportunity to partner with award-winning producer Pi’erre Bourne and learn from his extensive knowledge and skills.”
Many artists appreciate the value of collaboration. Even if the song doesn’t climb to the top of the charts and notoriety seems just beyond reach, the experience can mold the artist’s future endeavors. The ability to be welcomed into a creative environment can be that boost to encourage others to fulfill their dreams.
In the words of Pi’erre Bourne, “I’m proud to have the chance to work with a brand like Pepsi that sees the value of giving the future generation a shot at growing and learning,” That ability to grow and learn is at the heart of this program. Just like artists take inspiration from those who first blazed the trail, the next generation can benefit from a guiding hand.
The Pepsi Music Lab looks to be ongoing program. While many people anticipate the first set of artists to emerge from the experience, the commitment to art and artists should be celebrated. While this program is built on music, it would be exciting to see how Pepsi could blend all the arts into an experience where arts for every life is celebrated.
