Recently, Instacart released its second annual Snacktime Report. While many people may not have been surprised at the most popular chips, the big game beverage findings might have people changing what’s in their glass.
Looking at the big game commercials, it seems like beer is the ultimate thirst quencher. Given that breadth and depth of the beer category, it can lead to almost endless choices. While many people have a favorite beer, sometimes versatility for a crowd drives decisions making.
At the same time, convenience, like ordering via Instacart, where available, allows people to have a well-stocked fridge. From a beer to a hard seltzer to maybe even a canned wine, a bevy of libations are available for that victory toast.
What does the Instacart Snacktime Report name as the most popular big game beverage?
Looking at the Instacart Snacktime Report, 9 of the 10 top beverages are beers. And, the majority of beers are lagers or light beers.
The only non-beer on the list is Bud Light Seltzer. And, there will be a lot of buzz with the Bud Light Seltzer commercial where Guy Fieri names the new Hard Soda as the beverage of Land of Loud Flavors. It could spark even more people to buy a 12-pack.
Still, it seems that sessionable beers are the preferred beverage for the big game. Corona takes two spots and Modelo takes top billing. Maybe those beers just taste better with all the chips and dips.
Bud Light and Michelob Ultra are all featured. It is interesting that traditional Budweiser isn’t on the list. Its big game commercial is often one of the most anticipated ones of the evening.
