While the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show brought the nostalgia and the Los Angeles Rams raised the Lombardi Trophy, the Super Bowl LVI commercials had people looking to find the big moment of the night. Some popular brands grabbed that 30 to 60 seconds of attention. Although everyone will have a favorite (or sometimes least favorite), the night seemed to be captured in four words, cars, celebrities, clever and crypto.

Putting aside the movie and series trailers, viewers looking for that big moment to put down the chips and dips seemed to be few and far between. It could be because many of the Super Bowl LVI commercials were revealed before a single player took the field in Sofi Stadium.

Since many people watching the event may not know the nuances of each blitz package or how a long snapper could drop the ball, the commercials become the conversation that brings people together. From did you get the joke to how many celebrity cameos did you spot, those fun seconds can make the night.

Many people wanted to have that big moment. Who doesn’t remember the Budweiser whatssuppp, that Pepsi Cindy Crawford moment or Betty White being tackled. It isn’t necessarily the unexpected, but it is the moment that has people talking long after the night is over.

This year, there were a few funny moments. Probably one of the biggest winners of the night was the Samuel Adams commercial with the partying robots. Your Cousin From Boston brought the funny in an original way.

Celebrities had a few moments that seemed to bring some laughs. From the Planters how do you eat your nuts to Lay’s buddy moment, those commercials were lighthearted and filled with a few Easter eggs. Even the Hellmann’s commercial tackling food waste seemed a topical way to bring up a bigger problem.

With beer being the beverage of the night, celebrities filled the screen with those commercials. From Guy Fieri in the Bud Light Hard Soda to the many celebrities in the Michelob Ultra commercials, these commercials were clever. But, it wasn’t about the big laugh. Everyone had to figure out the funny a little more.

Speaking of figuring things out, crypto was a hot topic. From that floating QR code to the fluctuating wealth, it seems that the other currency is having a moment. Although some older watchers might need a bigger explanation, it seems that crypto is now front and center.

The same can be said about electric cars. It seemed that almost every car commercial had someone plugging into the experience

Overall, the biggest take away with the Super Bowl LVI commercials is that the moments were subtle. These commercials might not make the best ever highlight reel, but they might have people talking for a while. If you never thought about buying an electric car or investing in crypto, then the commercials did their job.
