While there might always be room for a sweet treat, the best seasonal candy might be hoping into the pantry sooner than you think. With only a few more days to the Easter holiday, everyone is wondering. Is Easter candy or Halloween candy the more popular choice?

Recently, Instacart shared a Harris Poll that asked 2,000 Americans about the best seasonal candy. According to the data, almost 2/3 of Americans believe that Easter candy is the tops. Even though the survey “peeped” into that candy shopping data, one thing was clear. Easter candy is on the shopping list and the holiday celebration is not complete without it.

Laurentia Romaniuk, Instacart’s Trends Expert, said “there’s a sensible reason many folks are more partial to Easter candy. With marshmallow chicks, chocolate bunnies and eggs, and jelly beans hitting store shelves just once a year, consumers are able to look forward to the limited-time offering of the specialty candies, which often feature pastel colors, unique shapes, and indulgences like creme fillings or malted chocolate.”

What are people’s choices for the best seasonal candy?

From jelly beans to chocolate bunnies, there are plenty of options that are traditional Easter candy choices. Even though these sweet treats are considered the best seasonal candy, the reality is that chocolate is usually front and center in the Easter basket.

While nothing will take the place of those chocolate bunnies, Instacart says that chocolate eggs, specifically Cadbury Crème Eggs and Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs are top choices. Actually, there is a divide, East Coast versus West Coast, as one reigns supreme. The East Coast prefers Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs while the West Coast prefers the Cadbury Crème Egg.

Although chocolate might top people’s candy buy list, there are other traditional Easter candy choices that people cannot leave out of the basket. Both jelly beans and Peeps are part of many people’s holiday celebrations.

According to Instacart, purchases of those two Easter candies surge over 100% the two weeks prior to the holiday. Whether it is food tradition or just because, it seems that there is always place for those two treats.

With only a few more days till Easter, it might be time to make those final purchases. And, Instacart can streamline the process. With all that convenience, it could leave a little time to make the space perfect for that holiday celebration.

What is your favorite Easter candy? Do you agree with the sentiment about the best seasonal candy?
