Even before the sun rises, the whirl of the blender can be a welcome sound. Whether the container has a plethora of ingredients or just a few favorites, that sip can lead to some good nutritional choices. Which easy smoothie recipes offer that boost to your day?

Although many people appreciate that balanced diet is part of a healthy eating lifestyle, the reality is that sometimes it is easy to sip all those fruits and vegetables. Whether it is hiding some kale in a glass or finding a way to introduce a new fruit flavor, the smoothie has become an easy way to bring that boost to balanced eating.

Certain fruits tend to be popular choices. While one study found that strawberry is the most popular fruit smoothie ingredient, it isn’t the only option. Blueberries, peach, bananas and more all make the list.

Recently, Vitamix announced the 2022 Smoothie of the Year recipe, Almond Yogurt, Peach and Banana Smoothie. This offering brings together popular fruits, like peach and banana, with bold flavors. It is a sip that is packed with nutrients and flavor.

According to Matt Dugan, executive chef at Vitamix, this smoothie recipe was chosen for not only food costs but also for versatility. Specifically saying, “peaches are a seasonal ingredient available from local growers in many parts of the country. Shoppers can ask for ‘seconds’ to use slightly less perfect fruit that’s ideal for blending, is often priced lower and helps to fight food waste.”

Plus, this smoothie recipe contains 11 grams of protein, is high in fiber and full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant components. To say that it is packed with goodness might be an understatement.

While this Vitamix offering has a wide appeal, another offering showcases how to use another fruit to boost the nutritional content. For example, that Wholly Avocado Diced Avocado can be blended into many easy smoothie recipes.

Beyond the vibrant green color, avocados add vitamin C, fiber and potassium to the sip. And, the healthy fat makes the smoothie super creamy.

Also, easy smoothie recipes are a great way to avoid food waste. Instead of another loaf of banana bread, freeze them for a smoothie. Bruised, over-ripe and other imperfect fruits and vegetables are perfect for smoothies. Basically, it is better to blend than to pitch.

Lastly, even after creating the perfect smoothie recipe, the order of blending can make that sip even better. According to nutribullet, consider how those ingredients go into the bowl. Starting with veggies closest to the blade is key. From there, pile in the fruits, liquids and other ingredients.

Even if you want to break up with your blender for a day, easy smoothie recipes can be a tasty and healthy eating option to incorporate into that food routine. That sound of the whirl can be music to your ears.
