After getting briny by bringing back favorite pickle menu items, the latest menu innovation from Sonic takes inspiration from the steakhouse. Hungry for a big bite of the Chophouse Cheeseburger?

Quick service restaurant menus constantly innovate. While some companies might launch new plant-based options and others look to expand their breakfast menus, the reality is that any addition needs to fit in with the rest of the food options. For example, putting a corn dog on a Mexican inspired menu just does not seem to fit.

At Sonic, the brand has an indulgent slant to its menu. Whether it is the drive-in like experience, the refreshing slushies or the indulgent shakes, this experience is just different. Choosing to eat at Sonic is submitting to that craving and enjoying the whole, big bite.

When it comes to its burgers, they are meant to be a hearty meal. Regardless of the sides, the satisfying bite is meant to feel more like a backyard barbecue offering versus just any grab and go meal.

With the new Sonic Chophouse Cheeseburger, the idea is to bring a totally different burger to the drive-in concept. As Mackenzie Gibson, Vice President of Culinary & Menu Innovation at SONIC Drive-In said, “Our new Chophouse Cheeseburger takes a SONIC staple and matches it with a boldly-seasoned aioli and crispy onion strings to create a taste that our guests have never before experienced at the drive-in. At SONIC, we pride ourselves on offering a rotating selection of unique and unexpected flavors, and this latest innovation proves that you don’t have to sacrifice convenience for a totally craveable cheeseburger.”

The new Sonic Chophouse Cheeseburger features “100% pure beef patty topped with a bold Chophouse aioli, crispy onion strings and two slices of melty American cheese, all served on a toasted brioche bun.” The new menu item has a starting price of $4.99.

Looking at this cheeseburger, it is clear that Sonic wants to offer guests value without compromising on flavor. By building on those robust flavors, the bite satisfies yet still leaves a few extra dollars in the wallet. As some people are finding, it can be more cost effective to eat out than to cook at home. This burger definitely exemplifies that concept.

The new Sonic Chophouse Cheeseburger is available now through October 30. With the chilly nights ahead, this menu offering could be that hearty meal that keeps everyone satisfied.
