Wild Turkey inspires creativity by expanding its 101 Bold Nights reach
For many people, enjoying great music with glass of their favorite bourbon is a perfect evening. Whether the beat invites a moment of celebration or the golden liquor causes a moment to ponder, the combination is inspiring. Recently, Wild Turkey expanded its 101 Bold Nights program with a partnership with Spaceflight Records.
The bourbon industry has several historic brands. While America’s liquor might be steeped in history and the master distillers have honed their craft, each bottle reflects the brand’s story.
For Wild Turkey and its Creative Director Matthew McConaughey, they are looking beyond the bottle to inspire creativity through a celebration of culture. The 101 Bold Nights program was created to support storytelling and emerging musicians. While there are many people who are strumming along in the music scene, the program looks to be that supporting component to a melodic success.
As Mark Watson, Marketing Director at Campari America, said, “Wild Turkey launched the 101 Bold Nights program to give back to people who follow their instinct, just as Wild Turkey’s Jimmy Russell, the longest-tenured active master distiller in the global spirits industry, has done throughout his career. We are extremely proud to continue this initiative by partnering with Spaceflight Records to support and celebrate emerging artists who express their bold stories through meaningful music.”
This year, Wild Turkey announced a partnership with Spaceflight Records, a non-profit record label who looks to support emerging artists. Through a new mentorship program, the hope is to give artists the tools to amplify their voices.
According to a Wild Turkey spokesperson, “The partnership with Spaceflight Records blends together Wild Turkey’s continuous efforts to support musical talent and Spaceflight Record’s core values of advancing the careers of emerging artists. Wild Turkey’s distinct way of distilling its bourbon and the boldness of its flavor holds similarities with roots rock, which we see as not a specific sound, but as an authentic approach to music and a way to express your own bold story that unfolds as you trust your own spirit. Austin has long been a haven for musicians and creatives that have forged their own path, so it’s a natural fit for us to bring 101 Bold Nights to this community to celebrate our collective passion for music and supporting emerging artists.”
Over the past several weeks and culminating on October 15, there have been several Wild Turkey 101 Bold Nights events. In addition, numerous musicians have posted their talents online using the hashtag #101BoldNightsMusicMentorship.
This program goes to show that food and culture are and will always be entwined. Whether it is raising a glass in celebration or a simple moment to unwind, food and beverages are the common connection. Add to that sentiment the idea that music can express sentiments when words are difficult to say. The harmonic combination of food and sound makes for a memorable moment.
Even as the curtain falls on the Wild Turkey 101 Bold Nights concerts, the music does not have to fade and the glass does not have to be empty. Another chord is waiting to be played and another bottle is waiting to be opened.
