2022 PEEPSFEST rings in the new year with a big PEEPS announcement

As one year ends and another begins, the hope, joy, and merriment are abundant. The unpleasant thoughts from the past have been washed away by the promise of sweet, positive, uplifting ideas. At the 2022 PEEPSFEST, this year’s traditional event has two drops for the big celebration. What will be the big PEEPS announcement that is coming this year?

On New Year’s Eve, many things “drop.” The countdown to the new year is marked not just by a big ball in New York City. Several locations use food to mark the occasion. From a cheese to a pickle to some other unusual food offerings, there are plenty of ways to mark the calendar page turning.

For 14 years, PEEPS has dropped one of its iconic chicks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the location of Just Born Quality Confections. The annual PEEPSFEST brings together young and old to not just celebrate the love of PEEPS but to bring a little sweetness to the New Year celebrations.

As Meg Dowd, Corporate Affairs Manager at Just Born Quality Confections said, “We are so proud that the PEEPS Chick Drop has become a beloved New Year’s Eve tradition for local families and devoted fans across the country. We look forward to celebrating with our local community each year at PEEPSFEST and we’re excited to provide them with a unique experience this year with the new Easter PEEPS Marshmallow announcement!”

The annual PEEPS drop is far from the traditional candy. The Yellow PEEPS Chick weighs in at 400 pounds and has a height of four feet, nine inches tall. This year, the Chick will drop both on December 30 and December 31 at 5:35 p.m.

While the annual PEEPS Drop brings smiles all around, a new sweet drop will make this year’s PEEPSFEST even more exciting. The brand will be sharing the 2023 Easter Season PEEPS flavors.

Although many people can speculate on the new flavors, everyone will want that first taste. Whether more Duos flavors hit the shelves or more ways to personalize those PEEPS become available, the reality is that PEEPS and Easter go hand in hand. Even though PEEPS are available all year long, they are always tied to the Spring holiday.

At the 2022 PEEPSFEST, there will be two drops happening. Both items are sweet food news to ring in the New Year.
