Although some people might have fallen in love with that Grimace Shake and cannot wait for the annual return of the Shamrock Shake, McDonald’s McFlurry flavors balance both favorite mix-ins and food trends. With the addition of the new Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry, which flavor is the ultimate frozen treat?

According to McDonald’s, the new Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry is more than a peanut swirl in a frozen treat. The combination of crispy cereal mix and chocolatey peanut butter cookie pieces hits the sweet, salty, crunchy combination that people crave. While this special frozen dessert is available starting August 9 for a limited time, it could be one of the best McDonald’s McFlurry flavors.

To be clear, there are only two permanent McFlurry flavors. M&M’s and OREO. While those classic options always satisfy, the specialty flavors have people making a special trip.

Which option is a spoon above in the McDonald’s McFlurry flavors rankings?

OREO

As the classic offering, the OREO McFlurry is always tops. Even though other frozen treats offer a similar concept, the McDonald’s option is a great sweet ending to pair with that Big Mac.

Stroopwafel McFlurry

While it was only around for a short time, the highlight of the international menu was a huge hit. The combination of the sweet caramel and the slight crunch from the waffle was amazing. Many people wish that this dessert option would return.

Shamrock Shake McFlurry

The springtime return of Shamrock Shake McFlurry is always a celebration. The bright, refreshing mint flavor with the classic OREO is a reason to have several before they disappear again.

Caramel Brownie McFlurry

One of the most decadent offerings, the Caramel Brownie McFlurry felt more like a double dessert than a little treat. From the caramel swirl to the brownie pieces, everyone was more than willing to order the larger size, but it was a lot to eat.

Chocolatey Pretzel McFlurry

The combination of salty, crunchy, and chocolate was a huge hit. Although the pretzel pieces sometimes got a little soggy, that contrast of flavors was quite delightful.

Chips Ahoy McFlurry

Another limited time offer, the Chips Ahoy McFlurry off that classic cookies and milk combination in a different way. Although some of the cookie pieces got a little soggy, it was still a reminder of those cookies and milk after school.

Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry

Another short-term offer, the idea of adding frozen dessert to the classic strawberry shortcake sounded like a spring time treat. While another quick service restaurant has a frozen strawberry dessert, this option added some texture. Although the fruit flavor was bright, it needed a touch more tartness.

Snickerdoodle McFlurry

While snickerdoodle might be a holiday cookie tradition, this limited time flavor had many people taking notice. It might have been the idea that people recreated a version at home. But, like other cookie offerings, it had to be eaten quickly of the bite became soggy.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup McFlurry

Although the classic peanut butter cup and vanilla frozen dessert is iconic, sometimes this McFlurry was a little clunky. It could have been user error, but the candy pieces need to be mixed throughout.

M&M’s McFlurry

While everyone loves the fun of M&M’s, the problem with this McFlurry offering is that the pieces are inconsistent. If the whole dessert was broken pieces or whole pieces, the idea would hit better.

While there are probably some flavors that were missed, this list covers many of the McDonald’s McFlurry flavors. After everyone tries the new Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry, it will be curious to see where it lands on the rankings.
