Papa Johns brings back a fan favorite for the fourth time
Whether it is Friday night dinner or celebrating after a big game win, pizza night often comes with a hearty appetite. Luckily, Papa Johns has brought back its Shaq-a-Roni pizza for the fourth time. While it satisfies a hearty appetite, the pie feeds a bigger need beyond the table.
For the fourth year, Papa Johns Shaq-a-Roni is on the menu. That ginormous pizza is covered from edge to edge with pepperoni. While people might enjoy that extra large slice, the food offering it more than just a tasty food.
With $1 from every pizza purchase going to community organizations, the charitable aspect has made a difference in many people’s lives. Over the past three years, the specialty pizza has raised $9 million to help local communities.
For the 2023 offering, Papa Johns is expanding its reach. November 1 through December 5, youth entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit their business ideas to the company. Some aspiring young business leaders will receive grants to help fund their ideas.
The balance between a favorite menu item driving customer sales and a community outreach is important for any food brand. People might place an order for a good deal, or they may want to support a worthy cause. No matter the reason, it can be the driver for a consumer to choose one food brand over another.
What other new item joins the Papa Johns Shaq-a-Roni on the menu?
While the Shaq-a-Roni might be the biggest food item on the Papa Johns menu, the new Twix Papa Bites are a sweet ending to the meal. The classic candy bar is surrounded by that light, pillowy dough. A great item to share, the dessert has quickly become a favorite.
The addition of a dessert item is smart for the brand. More and more quick service restaurants as well as pizza brands have been expanding their sweet offerings. Whether it is the craving for an indulgence or people willing to splurge with a last-minute purchase, there are plenty of reasons why the menus need to expand beyond the savory items.
The Twix Papa Bites are available now. The suggested retail price is $4.99 per order.
