Papa Johns adds Cheesy Calzone Epic Stuffed Crust pizza to the menu

After adding numerous new food items to the menu in 2023, Papa Johns ends the year with another pizza indulgence. The Cheesy Calzone Epic Stuffed Crust pizza brings extra indulgence and people will be clamoring to get that first taste.

New menu items often get big attention. From food trends to product innovation, that announcement has people salivating to enjoy the first taste. Usually, the idea builds on a concept that always has a strong fan base.

Looking back at Papa Johns 2023 new menu items, the food options were both sweet and savory. But, one adjective could be used to describe them all, indulgent. From Crispy Parm Pizza to Oreo Cookie Papa Bites, and even the highly talked about Doritos Cool Ranch Papadia, these items were meant to be a splurge, a time to throw caution to the wind, and enjoy that pleasurable bite.

With the new Cheesy Calzone Epic Stuffed Crust Pizza, the Papa Johns menu item takes the stuffed crust concept in a bigger way. As people take that first pull, the restaurant brand hopes that it is one of many times that fans order the pizza.

According to Kimberly Bean, Senior Vice President of Menu Strategy and Product Innovation, “Papa Johns has made a name for itself in the stuffed crust game by continuing to innovate and offer new flavor combinations that deliver on the quality we’re known for. We know fans are looking for more indulgent, savory flavors and deliciously surprising textures, so we can’t wait for them to get a taste of the newest spin on the Epic Stuffed Crust they love.”

The stuffed crust combines mozzarella and savory garlic-herb ricotta, the two flavors used in a calzone. The pizza can be topped with any ingredient on the Papa Johns menu. In addition, it is served with a side of pizza sauce, for dipping, drizzling, or however people choose.

The new Cheesy Calzone Epic Stuffed Crust Pizza, with a single topping, will sell for $14.99. Papa Rewards loyalty members can order the new menu item starting December 18. All other guests can order beginning Tuesday, December 26.

In addition, Papa Johns will add another new menu item in 2024. The Cheesy Calzone Papa Bites join the sides menu. The smaller, shareable items will be available for Papa Rewards members on January 22. All guests can order the side item on January 29.
