For Vanderpump Villa Season 2, the beautiful Italian countryside serves as the stunning locale for elegant escapism that guests expect from the Lisa Vanderpump experience. Returning after a successful season 1, Chef Anthony Bar takes over the reigns as head chef of Castello Rosato. While his impeccable food menus bring drama to the table, the talented chef prefers to keep that heightened sensibility just on the plate.
While any Lisa Vanderpump reality television show is known for some tasty drama, Chef Anthony has found a way to keep calm in his kitchen. The only drama that he serves is the deliciousness at each themed dinner.
During a recent conversation with Chef Anthony regarding Vanderpump Villa Season 2, he recalled that his goal for Season 1, “was to impress Lisa and not to disappoint her.” In Season 2, he said that he had the same goal, but the pressure was higher to succeed.
“This season was challenging with the same pressure and responsibility. Still, we had people who wanted to come to work and do the job and others who just wanted to be on the television show. It was clear who I was going to be able to work with and who I could not.”
Without giving away any spoilers from Season 2, it is clear that Chef Anthony has set the bar high. It does not mean that he is unwilling to show his team the ropes, but he does have immediate expectations. Anyone who steps into this kitchen should know how to turn on the stove.
Additionally, it is clear that Lisa respects and values Chef Anthony’s opinion and perspective. Whether it was the Season 1 audience or the staff members, everyone should have known what to expect from Chef Anthony.
He reflected, “I was lucky in Season 1 because it showed me at my best. Anyone who watched should understand how I approach my job and what I expect from people. I do not want the drama. It needs to stay outside of my kitchen.”
While personal relationships on Vanderpump Villa have viewers intrigued with all the complexities, it is the guest experience that is truly the focus of the show. For Chef Anthony, he wanted to highlight Italian food and the local ingredients in the best way possible. Every meal was a celebration of that food and culture.
When asked about infusing Italian food and culture into the experience, Chef Anthony said, “we had local produce from around the town. I’m a big fan of Italian food and we had the best ingredients.”
From there, the whole team created a curated experience for every guest. As Chef Anthony explained, “everything has to match Lisa’s color and style. From there, we created a flavor profile and experience. The whole team came together to make it special.”
Although Castello Rosato is no longer accepting guests, Chef Anthony has some food suggestions for a Vanderpump Villa watching party. Specifically, he mentioned that people should first focus on ingredients, especially fresh produce.
From there, he suggested that great produce does not need a lot of extras. Whether it is a simple pasta or a charcuterie board, Italian food is a celebration of the ingredients. Once guests gather around the table, the spirited conversation will ensure that the flavor and the memories will always be part of the experience.
