Creamy is the beverage trend that is making everything thirsty for more

While the “dirty soda” took over the conversation, creamy is the beverage trend for Spring. From alcoholic beverages to coconut water to even restaurant beverage offerings, that rich flavor blends nostalgia with a hint of indulgence.

The term creamy is an interesting description when it comes to beverages. While that luscious mouth feel might sound more like a sweet, dessert option, that change in viscosity adds to sipping satisfaction. Not only does that richer texture change the drinking enjoyment, but it also expands flavors with a sense of playfulness.

Recently, several new beverage offerings have embraced the creamy beverage trend. For example, Denny’s launched its Slammin’ Sodas. Each beverage starts with Dr Pepper, Coca-Cola Classic, or Sprite. The beverage is finished with sweet cream.

That added sweet cream transforms that simple soda. For people who love a milkshake or float, but prefer a slightly lighter option, this beverage is the perfect compromise. Whether paired with pancakes, burgers, or enjoyed on its own, it is a sip of deliciousness that has people coming back for more.

Another example of the creamy beverage trend is Vita Coco Treats. Building on the success of the Strawberry and Creme flavor, the beverage brand added Orange and Creme.

Speaking about the new beverage launch,  Jane Prior, Chief Marketing Officer of The Vita Coco Company said, “With the launch of Vita Coco Treats last year, we saw a clear demand for beverages in our portfolio that satisfy a craving for something sweet without feeling heavy. After the incredible response to Strawberries and Creme, we wanted to provide consumers with another beloved flavor—one that brings a fresh twist to a timeless favorite. We’re so excited for everyone to try Orange and Creme!”

The flavor is classic, almost comforting. Last summer many food brands played into the creamsicle vibe. This Vita Coco beverage seems to continue that trend.

Overall, the beverage feels indulgent while still fitting into balanced eating choices. The coconut-based beverage has a lovely mouth feel and is zesty with the orange. For people who crave a sweet sip, the Orange and Creme delivers. It might not necessarily be an exact swap for that frozen dessert, but it does satisfy.

The creamy beverage trend even extends to the cocktail space. Vizzy Hard Seltzer added a Cream Pop Variety Pack. The new combination package includes the popular Orange Cream Pop and new flavors, Raspberry Cream Pop and Strawberry Cream Pop.

These flavors balance the nostalgia feeling with sense of fun. For people who prefer to end a meal with a sweet sip instead of a forkful of dessert, these options are perfect.

Additionally, they make a great choice for a playful beverage, too. Why not use the Vizzy Hard Seltzer Cream Pop beverages as a floater with a scoop of sorbet. The fruity with the cream would make for a great option on a warm day.

The Vizzy Hard Seltzer Cream Pop Variety Pack includes 12 cans, six cans of Orange Cream Pop and three cans Raspberry Cream Pop and three cans of Strawberry Cream Pop.

These three beverages are just a taste of the creamy trend. How long will people be thirsty for these options? For now, the glasses are fun and people are still sipping.
