Whether the first drive is straight down the fairway or the 18th hole required a must save par, the 19th hole is where golf day is celebrated. The great shots and the mulligans are all recounted with varying levels of laughter. Fresca Mixed has a refreshing beverage to pair with that apres lifestyle and Heather McMahan is ready to spill the tea on how best to enjoy it.
In a new series, What’s the Tee by Fresca Mixed, Heather McMahan and Jesse Solomon give their hot takes on golf. The first episode of What’s the Tee can be found on Fresca Mixed's Instagram or YouTube channel.

As seen in the first episode, Heather McMahan finds a way to bring some laughter to her life. From her comedy specials to her podcast, women relate to her hot takes. From pop culture to weaving personal stories into her comedy, she is the friend that every girl group wishes that they had.
Through her partnership with Fresca Mixed, Heather graciously answered some questions. As an avid golfer, she understands that the 19th hole is just as important as the front and back nine.
Cristine: For some people, golf is less about the perfect drive down the middle of the fairway and more about the enjoyment of enjoying the day on the course. If a “social” golfer/girls round gets paired with a serious golfer, what are some suggestions to make that pairing less contentious? Does a good conversation make the 18 holes fly by?
Heather: Well, you really have to feel it out, because if you're with a serious golfer, they may be in the zone and don't want to chitchat. So, you may have to keep the conversation to your own cart. I just say move quick. As long as you're playing quickly, then you're going to keep the pace up and then they'll get to loosen up. If you let a serious golfer stew in a sand trap for too long, it'll make everybody crazy. And also, hey, give them a Fresca Mixed, maybe they just need to loosen up and enjoy themselves a little bit.
Cristine: Some people warm-up at the driving range and others prepare by stocking the golf cart cooler. What are some of your pre-round routines? Do you have any superstitious rituals to ensure you have a good round?
Heather: I love this. Well, you definitely have to warm up the body because at 38 my back doesn't work the same way it used to. So, if I don't get in some good stretching and a nice little warm up, then my sciatica will be flared, so we definitely have to warm up. But also, you have to have the snacks. You have the cooler stocked with the Fresca Mixed because no matter what happens on the front nine things can always take a turn on the back nine, so you need to keep it positive. It's also all about the mental, you know, keep it light and loose on the front nine. You can always recoup in the back nine.
Cristine: Drinking and golf seem to go hand in hand. From birdie shots to the 19th Hole, do you have any rules or suggestions when it comes to enjoying a beverage on the course? What beverage do you always have in the golf cart cooler?
Heather: Well, obviously we have to stay hydrated, so we have water and then we have Fresca Mixed, Grapefruit Citrus is my favorite. Listen, I'm a little superstitious, I like to bring my own koozie for the can because I just like to have that. It keeps the drink refreshed all day and that way, you know, it's nice so that the can doesn't slip out while I've got my glove on, and my glove doesn't get wet, you know? So, it's perfect. I just like to bring my own koozie for my Fresca Mixed. And that's just my thing. Everybody knows I've got my koozie. My personalized koozie.
Cristine: You partnered with Fresca Mixed to host What’s the Tee with Jesse Solomon. What can people expect? Do you think your show will spill more tea than a Bravo confessional?
Heather: We had a lot of fun razzing people out on the golf course. We're trying to giggle and make golf a little less serious and dispel some rumors you know. If you're not familiar with golf, it can seem like a very intimidating sport and we just want to make it a little bit more lighthearted, have some fun, relax, drink a Fresca Mixed and giggle because golf is already hard enough. Why should we make it harder by getting so serious about it?
Cristine: Recently you hosted the Absolutely Knot Cruise. What were some of your favorite memories from the event?
Heather: Oh my gosh. Well, we had a Pitbull lookalike contest, which was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I've never laughed harder. I had tears rolling down my face while I was in full prosthetics that took two hours to look like Mr. Worldwide, who I'm his number one fan. But honestly, seeing the community and everybody get together and go to all the shows and, you know, do the limbo contest on the Lido deck, it was just four days of true joy and fun and nobody had an ego. Everyone was just down to clown is the best way to put it. It was just so much joy and fun, and it was really fun to see people not take themselves too seriously.
Cristine: You’re currently on tour. How do you find some ways to relax in between shows?
Heather: Honestly, I don't talk. In between shows, I have to sit in my room in the quiet darkness and just rest my voice. But also, when I get to travel so much, I love checking out new restaurants. I always ask the fans in each city, like where should I go? And so, I've really gotten to see a lot of cool cities and enjoy you know the best parts of cities because I really trust what my fans tell me to do. If they're, like, go here for a beverage afterwards or for late night chicken tenders, I'm trusting them.
Cristine: You know how to turn a phrase and many of your sayings have been immortalized on shirts. If you could make a Fresca Mixed catch phrase, what would it be?
Heather: A Fresca Mixed catch phrase. Well, I feel like they're already really good with their branding, but let's think. I'm almost thinking like a Real Housewives tagline. I would do some sort of play on words with the grapefruit. You know what I mean? Like a tight t shirt, that's like grapefruit citrus and there's just two giant grapefruits. It's like you know, a little play on words with the giant jugs. But it's all about the après lifestyle, baby. It's the 19th hole, so I would just say see you on the 19th hole baby, you know, forget about the front 18 see on the 19th hole with your Fresca Mixed.
It is time to embrace the apres lifestyle because it is how you end the day in the clubhouse that really matters. With an ice cold Fresca Mixed in hand, everyone has a winning round.
