Whether people are two-stepping to his uber popular “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” or channeling the happy vibes of “Good News,” Shaboozey understands that a great hook turns a song into an instant hit. This summer, the popular singer and songwriter is ready to prioritize relaxation. With a Coors Light in his hand, it is time to “Chill on Shuffle.”
Over the years, Coors Light has partnered with many musicians and artists. Whether it was giving the Jonas Brothers their own special color changing label or giving upcoming artists more visibility, the beer brand appreciates that a refreshing beverage and a great tune are a perfect pairing.
Recently, Coors Light partnered with Shaboozey as part of the light lager’s Chill on Shuffle promotion. Whether it is favorite tunes on shuffle or venturing to a favorite festival, music, beer, and a sense of chill is a winning recipe for the summer.
During an interview with FoodSided, Shaboozey said that he is looking forward to “chilling this summer.” Specifically, he recalled, “last year, I do not think that I had two days off, if I’m being honest.” This year, he is making grilling with friends and enjoying a Coors Light a priority.
Shaboozey shared that those “chill” moments are vital for his creativity. “I think that it is really important to just chill. It is the time when you can think about what you are creating next. It is necessary to the process.”
As an artist who embraces storytelling through his music, Shaboozey appreciates Coors Light’s history and the similarities between him and the brand.
He shared, “Coors Light is one of the top choices in American beer. I’m always about finding those classic Americana brand that have been a part of history and culture. They tell a story.” Although he did not necessarily recall a specific example of where he mentioned the beer in a lyric, he said the concept is a through line in his musical motifs.
Shaboozey is no stranger to food and beverage collaborations. His songs have been featured in Big Game commercials and have been celebrated across pop culture. In his opinion, that opportunity to cross segments is important for fans and artists. Whether it a die-hard fan seeing their favorite artist in a new light or the first introduction, these opportunities are vital for creatives.
That type of collaborative mindset is a concept that can be seen across Saboozey’s music. He explained that he was never afraid to blur the lines with his music or felt that he needed permission to meld genres.
Specifically, he said, “I feel as an artist, it my job to inspire and to be inspired. That concept is what music has always been about. It is the reason why music exists, grows, and is part of being human. Storytelling, orating, creating instruments are things that have transcended continents and generations.”
While those poignant words deserve a moment to chill in contemplation, Shaboozey appreciates that every moment is a new opportunity. From people being exposed to him on Jelly Roll’s last tour to this opportunity with Coors Light, every moment is a way to spark a conversation and see where that connection leads.
Although his touring schedule looks a little different than the busy calendar from last summer, I had to ask what are some favorite food and beverages on his rider. He mentioned that, in addition to Coors Light, there are some Uncrustables and charcuterie. It seems that the artist’s tastes are pretty straightforward.
From his humble beginnings in Woodbridge, Virginia to be celebrated by the Grand Ole Opry, Shaboozey is grateful for his success. Remaining humble and grounded, he is ready to find inspiration during his summer of Chill on Shuffle. For everyone else, it is time to crack open your own chill moment and toast to good times with a cold Coors Light.
