7-Eleven and Punk Bunny drop the ultimate coffee collaboration
While Green Day might sing about being an American Idiot, the special collaboration between the band’s Punk Bunny and 7-Eleven is a smart choice for everyone involved. No need to wait for September to end, this new partnership kicks off on August 28.
Long before Green Day played its punk anthems to sold out crowds, 7-Eleven sold coffee in to-go cups. When that idea first started, no one needed overly complicated coffee orders. It was always about good coffee, convenience, and value.
The collaboration between 7-Eleven and Green Day’s Punk Bunny coffee goes back to that concept. Consumers get a flavorful coffee, at a reasonable price, served with convenience. It might not be as emphatic as a guitar rift, but it gets the point across.
As Dennis Phelps, Senior Vice President, Merchandising (Vault & Proprietary Beverages) at 7-Eleven said, “This year, we celebrate the 60th anniversary of 7-Eleven as the first national retailer to offer freshly brewed coffee in to-go cups, making us the OG To-Go coffee destination. What better way to celebrate than by teaming up with Punk Bunny to bring new and exclusive coffee options to our customers and offering a one-of-a-kind coffee experience?”
Starting on August 28, 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes will offer an exclusive Anniversary Blend of Green Day’s Punk Bunny Coffee. The offering will be available for a limited time. In addition to the special Anniversary Blend, the stores will sell Sound Check and Last Ride blends in both K-Cups and bags.
The special Anniversary Blend is an invigorating coffee. With zesty citrus notes, it is that burst of brightness to kickstart the day. Balancing the fruit flavors is a sweet cocoa and some warm spices. While there is an underlying sense of comfort to this blend, it is far from one note. The flavor is the jolt to get the day going and keep the energy high.
While there will be special kick off events in New York City, everyone can join in the Punk Bunny excitement with a special 7Collection merchandise launch. It is another example how 7-Eleven looks beyond the four walls to keep consumers engaged. It might not be that old school band tee, but it is the food fashion statement that has people humming that tune to make a return visit.
