While candy lovers are never sorry to enjoy that classic, iconic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, the food brand has upped the ante with its latest offering. The new Reese’s Chocolate Lava Big Cup is overflowing with chocolate decadence.

Over the years, Reese’s has innovated its peanut butter cup. From mixing in pretzels and chips to folding in other candies, there have been no shortage of flavor and textural versions.

Recently, the Reese’s Caramel Big Cup was a resounding success. That punch of sweetness with the slightly salty peanut butter and creamy milk chocolate was an instant hit. Now, the popular candy brand is adding another layer of flavor to that favorite food. Bring on the chocolate.

As the name suggests, the candy is meant to mimic the iconic lava cake. Similar to how that warm, gooey dessert lets the creamy, smooth center flow once the fork hits the center, this candy is meant to reveal the chocolaty center once it is broken.

To be clear, no one really has to worry about a forceful eruption of rich, gooey chocolate covering your hands when with that first bite. The textural component is similar to the Reese's caramel candy. Yes, it flows but it is not like the hot lava cake on a plate.

But, the flavor is reminiscent of that lava cake dessert. The chocolate is different some the milk chocolate edge. There is a quite noticeable difference between the two chocolate.

The dual chocolate flavors makes this Reese’s offering one of the best ideas that they have had. While it would be difficult to have two contrasting peanut butters inside the cup, the two chocolate almost makes the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup sophisticated, like a candy from a master chocolatier.
