After training hard and dedicating their lives to earn a place in history, the Olympic Athletes are hungry to feast on the flavorful, diverse, and delicious food experience that the Sodexo Live chefs created at the Paris Olympics. There might be a bounty of Michelin Star restaurants in Paris, but the athletes will be dining on food worthy of a gold medal.

Sports fans, travel enthusiasts, and businesses are familiar with Sodexo Live and its hard working culinary team. The hospitality brand handles a wide array of sporting events, stadiums, and even workplaces around the world. From Royal Ascot to Hard Rock Stadium, the brand’s global influence on event hospitality is clear.

Over the years, Sodexo Live has learned to incorporate food trends, thematic concepts, and a lot of excitement into each unique menu offering. Their food might be some of the reasons why some fans missed that epic touchdown.

For the Paris Olympics, the Sodexo Live team will be serving a 3,500 dining seat space. Providing food and beverages, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, they expect to serve 15,000 athletes from all the participating nations.

Given the vast and diverse athletes descending on Paris, Sodexo Live will feature various offerings, but will focus on three specific cuisines, France, Asia, Africa-Caribbean, and World Cuisine. Overall, there will be 500 different recipes for the event.

Here is a small sampling of the Sodexo Live dishes from the Olympic Village.

France: Vegetarian Bourguignon, Cod purée

Asia: Minced pork with Thai basil basmati rice, Roasted cauliflower and potatoes with turmeric

Africa/Caribbean: Sautéed bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and chili (Shakshouka), Sautéed shrimp with chermoula

World Cuisine: Lamb with mint-infused reduced sauce, Vegetable moussaka

Sodexo Live embraces a food trend in the Olympic menu

One of the biggest changes to the Olympic menu is the focus on vegetarian offerings. As requested by the host city, Sodexo Live will feature a 100% vegetarian menu at the Concorde site.

Available to the public, the plant-based menu will feature 15 different options. While the focus will be plant-focused, the flavor will impress even the most ardent carnivore.

While most guests will focus on the deliciousness on the plate, this concept represents a forward focused decision to put sustainable practices into the food conversation. Showcasing that gourmet food and sustainability can go hand in hand is vital to the evolution of hospitality.

For anyone who is in the City of Lights for all the Olympic action, do not miss the Sodexo Live food offerings. There is plenty to see and do in Paris and the food should definitely be on that list.
