The summer weather is scorching, but the Sour Watermelon Margarita Sorbet is perfectly refreshing. The ultimate collaboration from Tipsy Scoop and Mi Campo Tequila has everyone grabbing their spoon and running to purchase another pint.

Margaritas and warm weather seem to go hand in hand. That classic sour cocktail seems to quench a thirst on a hot day. From the classic variety to a fruit infused option, it is always a great choice.

While the cocktail shaker might be working overtime, Tipsy Scoop offers drinkers a different option to fill the glass. Instead of grabbing a straw for the frozen margarita, the handcrafted booze-infused ice cream invites everyone to pick up the spoon.

This summer, Tipsy Scoop partnered with Mi Campo Tequila to offer a Sour Watermelon Margarita Sorbet. Available via Goldbelly and at Barlour locations, the alcoholic sorbet has 5% ABV and a punch of sweet, sour, fruity flavor.

Fortunately, a few pints arrived at my door. Giddy with excitement, it was hard not to dig into one of the pints as soon as the delivery driver sped away.

While the flavor says sour, this flavor is less about the intense pucker of a sour candy and more about a tanginess. Watermelon can sometimes be a little sweet. Instead, this sorbet is bright, refreshing. It can be hard to stop at just a scoop or two. Eating directly from the pint container makes it too easy to devour the whole container.

When thinking about serving this sorbet, there are plenty of fun, or visually engaging options. Sure, someone will carefully recreate a watermelon wedge for the picture perfect moment. But, it does not have to be that complicated.

Yes, serving a few fresh watermelon pieces alongside or in a bowl with the sorbet is quite delicious. The contrasting textures and temperatures makes eating enjoyment enhanced. Even layering a scoop in between two pieces of watermelon for a “sandwich” is tasty.

Personally, a few pieces of coarse flake salt on top of a single scoop is perfect. Just like a little salt on the rim of a margarita or a sprinkling of salt on watermelon, that ingredient brings out the sweetness of the fruit flavor. Smoked salt works well, too.

If a spicy twist is preferred, a sprinkling of Tajin is equally enjoyable. That hint of heat with the cool, refreshing sorbet can make anyone forget about the unbearable summer heat.

While many people would happily enjoy this Tipsy Scoop and Mi Campo Tequila sour watermelon margarita sorbet all year round, it is only available for a limited time. It is best to place an order before commencing that back to school shopping.

Put away the blender and grab a spoon. Sour watermelon margarita sorbet is the must have treat of the summer.
