The annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival presented by Food Network and Cooking Channel is the ultimate food festival for the food lover. From the tents on the white sandy beaches to the late night parties, foodies have gone to food heaven. It is time to start preparing for eat, drink and educate extravaganza.

Having attended many food festivals over the years, SOBEWFF is hands down the biggest, and best, of all of them. The sheer amount of events over the four day period is overwhelming. Truthfully, there is no way to hit every event, even though I would want to. Even attending multiple events in a single day can be overwhelming. Still, I, like many other foodies, are up to the challenge.

What sets this food festival apart is the atmosphere. The whole event is a party. Maybe it is the closeness to the beach (tents are literally on the sand). But, everyone who attends this food festival will have a memorable time.

A handful events have become the signature parties at the annual Miami food festival. In addition to the Grand Tasting Village on Saturday and Sunday, the annual Burger Bash is a festival highlight. New for 2018, Guy Fieri will host this fan favorite event. Yes, it can be a difficult job eating all those burgers, but it is worth every guilty calorie.

Based on last year’s SOBEWFF, the Barilla Bites Italian event will be a hot ticket. This evening event featured some of the tastiest and thoughtful Italian inspired dishes. Don’t thinks plates and plates of pasta. Instead, the event offered inventive crudos, layered flavors and decadent desserts.

Also, the Art of the Tiki Cocktail returns for another late night party. Last year, this late night event was definitely a high spirited event. The participants not only created spectacular tiki cocktails, but also looked to carry the themes over into their booth decorations, presentations and even some scary scorpions. This year, Anne Burrell hosts the event.

Other fun events for 2018 include “Tacos After Dark hosted by Rick Bayless, Rooftop Rosé Happy Hour, Lucky Chopsticks hosted by Andrew Zimmern and Beachside BBQ hosted by Michael Symon.” If you can’t choose just one or two events, an entire festival pass is available.
