Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are one of the most popular candies. The chocolate and peanut butter combination is a favorite with young, old and everyone in between. Occasionally, Reese’s has tried to update that classic chocolate and peanut butter combination.
Two years ago, Reese’s updated the classic peanut butter cup by adding Reese’s Pieces inside the peanut butter cup. The combination of textures was quite appealing. The candy shell crunch within the soft, sweet peanut butter center was a new idea. While flavor has always been key in candy, texture wasn’t the influence. This candy changed that thought.

The new Reese’s Outrageous builds on the flavor and texture combination. Instead of being the classic Reese’s Peanut Butter cup, the Outrageous is a bar. The small bar is about three to four bites. It’s not too big, but also not snack size. Given the rich taste, the bar is just enough.
For Reese’s fans, the flavor is the most important factor. The Outrageous has the classic Reese’s peanut butter flavor, but it is a little sweeter. With caramel added into the bar, the flavor has a sweet and salty combination. While it is not quite a salted caramel, it is a good combination.

What makes the Reese’s Outrageous craveable is that salty, sweet combination with the Reese’s Pieces. The peanut butter caramel center is covered with Reese’s Pieces and the whole bar is coated in chocolate. The crunch is very satisfying.
This new candy reminds of the candy pieces that you put into an ice cream mixer. While there is no ice cream, the candy combination is similar. It’s all the classic Reese’s favorites rolled into a single bite.
The only problem with the new Outrageous is the Reese’s candy won’t be able till 2018. Most likely, the new candy will make its official debut at the annual Sweets and Snacks Expo. Yes, it is a long wait, but it will be worth it.
