Chick-fil-A has a large, loyal following. Today, the fast food giant announced a new menu offering for Spring, Frosted Sunrise.

From the iconic southern style chicken sandwich to its cow advertisements, Chick-fil-A is hugely popular. Even with its traditional Sunday closure, fans loyally go back time and again to curb their cravings. Announced today, Chick-fil-A is adding to its menu. The new Frosted Sunrise is a tart yet sweet treat for the Spring.

This new seasonal beverage combines “Chick-fil-A’s signature vanilla Icedream® and Simply Orange® Juice.” Similar to the restaurant’s Frosted Lemonade, the Frosted Sunrise combines two favorite flavors in a sweet, yet not overly indulgent, frozen treat. Whether enjoyed as a meal companion or a dessert, this new beverage will surely become a favorite with fans.

Looking at the flavor combination, the Frosted Sunrise has similar flavors to the iconic dreamsicle. The old school frozen treat combines vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet. For decades, this dessert was a popular warm weather treat. The tartness of the sherbet plays well off the creaminess of the vanilla ice cream.

In the Chick-fil-A version, the beverage has fewer calories than a traditional ice cream based beverage. The Icedream is a dairy treat, but is not truly ice cream. It is more like ice milk, which has a smaller calorie count. Still, the Icedream has a vanilla ice cream flavor.

It is unclear whether the Frosted Sunrise will be a just a short term menu item or might find a permanent home on the menu. The Frosted Lemonade started as a limited edition menu item. Its popularity secured it permanent menu status. The same happened to the Frosted Coffee.

Last year, Chick-fil-A released a Frosted Strawberry Lemonade. That beverage only had a limited menu offering. While the flavor combinations were enjoyable, the beverage didn’t resonated as well with guests. That beverage did not become a permanent menu item.
