Four chefs remain in Iron Chef Gauntlet Season 2. Which chef can how ingenuity on a simple dish and which chef will be forced to leave the Gauntlet Kitchen?

With the chance to compete against three Iron Chefs on the line, Iron Chef Gauntlet Season 2 is starting to pick up speed. As the chefs tackle the various qualities that an Iron Chef needs, the competitors must push beyond their comfort zones. Which chef will break away from the pack this week?

Host Alton Brown with Contestant David LeFevre, as seen on Iron Chef Gauntlet, Season 2.

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “Ingenuity,” will feature:

"The final four chefs are tasked with showing their ingenuity by creating an inventive breakfast for the Chairman’s Challenge. One chef reimagines steak and eggs with a modern Asian twist, while another competitor might not have made their dish ingenious enough. Then it’s on to a Secret Ingredient Showdown with shellfish, where a solid contender must go up against one of the most creative chefs in the competition. Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli and Simon Majumdar judge their dishes and decide which chef gets eliminated."

This synopsis makes Iron Chef Gauntlet Season 2 episode 4 appear like a game changer. The Chairman’s Challenge sounds like a simple task, but the simple tasks can cause big shake-ups in the Gauntlet Kitchen. Truthfully, a breakfast challenge could be a reference to the classic chef challenge, making eggs.

So many people hear about chefs who are required to make the perfect egg dish. Who hasn’t watched all those scrambled egg videos. There is something simple, yet complex about making a delicious egg dish.

With the chefs needed to find ingenuity in the breakfast dish, it could be too broad for some competitors. Sometimes chefs might need a little more direction to make a successful dish. Could the lack of direction send a favorite into the Secret Ingredient Showdown?

As for the Secret Ingredient Challenge, the two chefs have probably the hardest judges of the season. Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli and Simon Majumdar don’t mince words. They expect perfection and won’t compromise. Could a lackluster presentation or a sloppy idea send a potential favorite home?
