Sweetbitter season 1 finale live stream: Watch online

The Sweetbitter season 1 finale is here. Has Tess evolved or has she been overcome by the late night world after the restaurant closes?

Tonight’s episode, the Sweetbitter season 1 finale, is a little bittersweet. While Tess has tried and tried to find her place in this dysfunctional restaurant world, she questions whether this new world is really for her. Could all her radical choices bring the life that she desires or was this time just an experiment gone array?

According to Starz, the Sweetbitter season 1 finale will feature:

"After partying until sunrise, Tess is not in an ideal state for her exam; the day’s events make her question if it is really all worth it."

The television adaptation of this book has focused less on the restaurant and the food than I would have expected. Sure, there is an occasional reference to wine, an octopus dish or the kitchen dynamics. But, these episodes are more drama forward.

Of course, this show wasn’t meant to be a cooking competition or a show like Top Chef. Still, the food and the restaurant is integral to Tess’s evolution. From learning about wine to properly seasoned dish, those experiences lead Tess to a pivot moment.

While the relationships with other staff members are important, as a food fan, I was hoping for a little more detail. When this show premiered, everyone was excited to see the wines, gawk at the dishes and even glean little juicy tidbits from the restaurant industry.

Did something happen along the way? Could the next chapter in Sweetbitter be more food driven or will the drama still overshadow the food and restaurant characters.
