Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours To Hell And Back: The Old Coffeepot Restaurant
Can Gordon Ramsay revive The Old Coffeepot Restaurant, a New Orleans institution in this week’s episode of Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours To Hell And Back?
Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours To Hell And Back heads to New Orleans and the iconic The Old Coffeepot Restaurant for this week’s episode. The 100 year old restaurant looks to find the spark and bring it back from the brink of disaster. Can Gordon save this restaurant institution?
According to FOX, this episode, “The Old Coffeepot Restaurant,” will feature the following “Gordon and his team make renovations and create a fresh new menu for a failing Cajun restaurant in New Orleans in an attempt to revive it.”

The Old Coffeepot Restaurant has been around forever. Actually, it was even featured on the Food Network show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. While this restaurant wasn’t intended to be a fine dining, elegant establishment, it does need to be run efficiently. From being clean to great customer service, the restaurant should be able to learn a lot from Gordon.
Looking at the reviews and other commentary, it appears that this restaurant is part breakfast establishment and part New Orleans authentic food stop. It appears that Calas are a must try menu item. This dish is a fried rice ball. While I have never heard or tried them, I wonder if this specialty will be featured on tonight’s show.

While parts of these types of shows are for entertainment value, it would be nice to see traditional New Orleans style or themed recipes featured on the show. The New Orleans restaurant scene is thriving. If a restaurant has been around for 100 years, it has value. Hopefully, this episode can highlight the traditions and history not just the theatrics.
