Donut Fries are coming to Dunkin’ Donuts. Who’s ready to run to get these hot, sweet and on the go donut treats?
Dunkin’ Donuts is bringing Donut Fries to locations across the country. Why have regular, plain French fries when you can have fries that are sweet, flakey and warm. Don’t worry about spilling ketchup on your shirt either. These delicious sweet fries are perfect for your summer on the go treat. Who’s hungry?
The popular donut chain announced that the new menu item will be launched nationwide on July 2. Just in time for the holiday, everyone can grab these delicious Donut Fries. Dunkin describes the fries as “individual pieces of delicious, buttery croissant style donut dough that are tossed in cinnamon sugar and served warm with just the right amount of crisp.” One serving has five fries and is priced at $2.

First, let’s be honest. Who would be sharing this treat? Unless you are trying to take some from your kids, no one is going to be willing to “share” a serving of these sweet fries. Truthfully, five fries is probably better than eating two whole donuts.

More importantly, the flavor of these special fries sound quite delicious. The croissant-style donuts have become quite popular. The flakey layers make these type of donuts seem lighter, yet quite flavorful. They almost seem more decadent than a regular donut.
Truthfully, the best part of this menu item will be that the fries are served warm. It reminds me of those warm, sweet treats at a theme park or a summer fair. The aroma entices from across the park. Warm cinnamon and sugar is a taste and aroma that very few people can resist.
While these fries are served on their own, I wonder how many people will eat them with some chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping. Since Dunkin’ doesn’t seem to serve these condiments, you would have to wait till you got home. I sincerely doubt anyone could wait that long to devour these sweet treats.
In addition to the new Donut Fries, Dunkin’ Donuts has a couple more new menu items. For the summer, new menu items include Brown Sugar Cold Brew, Chocolate Coconutty Donut and Shark Bite Donut. The Brown Sugar Cold Brew sounds like the perfect beverage to drink while enjoying those new sweet fries.
