The Macallan Distillery Experience comes to New York City
This July, The Macallan, the world’s most admired single malt Scotch whisky, is bringing its new, awe-inspiring Scottish distillery to life stateside with a 4D experience.
The Macallan is a highly celebrated Single Malt Scotch whisky. Just in time for National Scotch Day on July 27, New Yorkers will get to experience the beauty and splendor of the Speyside in The Macallan Distillery Experience in the middle of Grand Central Station. For scotch fans, this multi-sensorial experience is a must visit.
Scotch drinkers often have a favorite brand. The Macallan is a single malt whisky that is highly acclaimed and a favorite with scotch drinkers. The brand is known for its attention to detail and its principles, the Six Pillars.

The New York City experience will feature the “the first interactive 4D group virtual reality experiences open to consumers ever.” The guest will choose her own exploratory path. From listening to untold stories to exploring the distillery’s architecture, the experience will bring fans of the scotch closer to the iconic brand.
According to Brand Director of The Macallan, “This journey was created so participants can be virtually transported to Speyside and experience the sights, sounds and scents of our new home.” While many people would love to visit the Speyside location, this virtual exploration is the next best thing.

While not everyone can visit the recently opening new distillery and visitor experience, this VR experience is as close to actually being there. Instead of being just putting on a headset and looking around, this groups experience this activation together. With an in-person guide, the guests not only see the breathtaking views, they feel the wind and smell the aromas. Plus, they control the areas explored. This immersive activation could either excite people to plan their trip to Scotland or people will think that they have already been there.
While the special immersive experience is entertaining, whisky fans will be excited to try the samples of The Macallan’s newly released Edition No. 4. Of course, a few traditional Scottish foods will be available to accompany the whisky.
If you can’t make the July 25-27 event at Grand Central Station’s Vanderbilt Hall, the experience will be available digitally. Also, some wine and liquor stores will have the VR headsets available for customers to try the experience.
