The Great Food Truck Race Season 9 premiere is set to roll out. Which food truck will earn bragging rights and ultimate glory in the Wild West?

The Great Food Truck Race Season 9 premiere heads out west for this new season. Seven teams vie for the prize, but only one team will leave with the keys to their food truck. What does this Wild West season have in store? You will have to watch and see.

According to the Food Network, The Great Food Truck Race Season 9 premiere episode is going to be a meaty one.

"Tyler Florence kicks off the race at a cattle ranch outside of Los Angeles, where he welcomes the seven teams with their first challenge. The ranch’s cowhands need something to wash down their breakfast, so each team must hand-squeeze a pitcher of orange juice in order to receive their seed money and keys to their truck. The trucks then head out to shop and prep for their first day selling on the busy streets of Los Angeles, but Tyler calls with another challenge: a beef auction where each team has to create an original dish with the cut they win. The team that sells the least is sent home, while the other six head to the next city."

The first challenge of fresh squeezed orange juice shouldn’t be too difficult. Hopefully the teams are given some type of tool to squeeze those oranges. Even a pair of tongs would be helpful (kitchen hack – tongs the hinge end of tongs work great as a juicer). The key to this challenge is to be calm and get the job done. It will be disappointing if teams fail at this challenge.

For the second challenge, the beef auction, could be much more difficult. Not all cuts of meat are easy to cook quickly or easily. If the teams aren’t familiar with a particular cut of beef, the challenge could prove to be quite difficult.

Even with these specific challenges, the key to being successful on The Great Food Truck Race is pricing and selling. Teams that are efficient with pricing and shopping strategies should make it through the first couple of episodes.

Sometimes the most successful food truck doesn’t have the best chef or the best tasting dish. A food truck needs to make money to survive. These teams need to understand the business aspect in addition to making delicious food.
