The kids are taking over MasterChef Season 9 episode 11. Can the home cooks conqueror a fine dining experience for these younger palates?

MasterChef Season 9 episode 11 looks to have some discerning foodies to appease. The remaining home cooks must hone those cooking skills for some important guests. But will these dishes impress or be sent back to the kitchen?

According to FOX, this week’s synopsis states “(t)wo teams compete in a fine dining challenge; a cupcake pressure test with chef Christina Tosi.”

This type of challenge can be fun television, but it is a little chaotic. While I firmly believe that kids have should eat all type of cuisines, I hope that this episode isn’t too cheesy. Kids don’t need chicken nuggets and buttered noodles. Let’s hope that the home cooks present some decent food to their little guests.

With the first challenge being a team event, it will be interesting to see how the cooks work together. The tensions have been high in the kitchen. Sparring personalities can make even the best dish a weak one. Will people be able to put their differences away in this challenge?

The pressure test is another difficult challenge. Often savory cooks don’t bake. Bakers aren’t always the best savory cooks. Making these home cooks bake cupcakes isn’t as easy as it seems. A really good cupcake takes a lot of skill. More importantly, you need to have a tested, practiced recipe. Lastly, you need to understand your oven and its temperature. Needless to say, I’m not a fan of this particular challenge because of all the variables.
