The limited time campaign was quite successful and the flavor was a huge hit. Now, as summer comes to a close, Krispy Kreme is offering the special doughnut for a limited time.
For just one week, Monday, August 27 through September 2, participating Krispy Kreme stores will offer the lemon glazed doughnut. This doughnut is a bright, yet sweet flavor combination. The iconic doughnut gets a covering from a zesty, yet sweet glazed. The flavor combination is quite refreshing on a hot, summer day.

It would have been nice to have this special flavor available all summer long. Sometimes when you’re craving a sweet treat on a hot day, the flavor can be overwhelming. While lemon is a great flavor for summer, it would have been nice to see some other favorite summer flavors incorporated into a Krispy Kreme doughnut flavor. Could watermelon or strawberry glaze be on the horizon? Truthfully, a strawberry lemonade doughnut would have been a perfect summer treat.
