DQ’s Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is back, no baking required
Fall is here and the fall favorite, Dairy Queen’s Pumpkin Pie Blizzard has returned. Is your red spoon ready for this favorite pumpkin treat?
Dairy Queen has brought back its Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and fans are rejoicing. Even though summer has faded and fall flavors are taking over, no one wants to turn on that oven, yet. Why not head to Dairy Queen to satisfy that pumpkin pie craving.
For this fall favorite Blizzard, Dairy Queen combines its classic vanilla soft serve with pumpkin pie pieces. The Blizzard is topped with whipped topping and a dash of nutmeg. The combination of flavors satisfy that pumpkin pie craving, but has an additional hint of sweetness.

The touch of nutmeg on top of the Blizzard is delightful. One of the reasons people love pumpkin flavored foods and beverages is the spice notes. Nutmeg is that flavor which is comforting and satisfying. While DQ just puts the spice on the whipped topping, it would be nice to see the spice swirled into the Blizzard for more depth of flavor.

The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is fan favorite. It will be the featured Blizzard for September. Dairy Queen does a great job of highlighting seasonal flavors for its monthly featured Blizzard. Each flavor seems to capture the taste of the season.
It would be interesting to see if DQ would turn the Pumpkin Pie flavor into one of its Royal Blizzards. These Blizzards have a center of filling. For example, the fan favorite Oreo Blizzard has a chocolate center for the Royal creation. It would be interesting to see how a Royal version could be made out of this Blizzard flavor.
Even though Dairy Queen has monthly featured Blizzards, fan favorites are always on the menu. The Oreo Blizzard is always a top choice for fans. There is something just so craveable about Oreo cookies and vanilla soft serve.
