Are you thirsty for IHOPS Pumpkin Pancake Stout?
Pancakes and beer? In a twist that no one saw coming, IHOPS Pumpkin Pancake Stout has just been released, but can you find a bottle?
IHOP, yet again, is showing that it could be more than just a pancake house. The new IHOPS Pumpkin Pancake Stout has just been released. Are you ready for a pumpkin, pancakes and beer all in a single sip?
During the fall, it seems that pumpkin flavors take over everything. From the pumpkin spice lattes to a variety of other pumpkin foods, there is no avoiding pumpkin flavors. For pancake fans, the return of IHOP’s signature Pumpkin Spice pancakes is another reason to visit the infamous house of pancakes.
New to the menu this season is Pumpkin Cinn-A-Stack. Available through October 28, this limited edition menu item combines the favorite Pumpkin Spice pancakes with Cinn-A-Stack pancakes. This big, bold flavor mash-up might be the new favorite fall flavor.
To celebrate fall flavors, IHOP partnered with Keegan Ales on a limited release beer, IHOPS Pumpkin Pancake Stout. This full-bodied beer is inspired by the Pumpkin Cinn-A-Stack. The stout combines the pumpkin, fall spices and IHOP’s World Famous Buttermilk pancakes into a single sip.
Keegan Ales, a New York based brewery, has been ranked as a “Top Ten Stouts in North America.” This particular stout is said to be very different from other seasonal pumpkin beers on the market. Since this stout incorporates the “IHOP’s signature Buttermilk pancake batter mix” the flavor should be quite unique. Keegan Ales describes the beer as having deep, roasted stout flavors with pumpkin, spices and the IHOP pancake.

While I haven’t had the chance to try this stout, I would gather that the beer will be more of a sipping beer. Although not necessarily a dessert beer, it sounds like it would be best paired with some bacon or pork belly. Since it has the pancake flavors, dishes with bacon could balance the pancake flavors or call up the idea of the classic breakfast pairing.
If you are looking to try this IHOPS Pumpkin Pancake Stout, don’t head to your local IHOP. This limited release beer is only available at select bars and festivals in the New York tri-state area. The first event where you can try this special beer is at Bacon and Beer Classic held in Flushing, New York on September 29, 2018.
